The Luftwaffe Pilot/ Observer Badge was introduced in 1935 by Hermann Göring as a replacement for the Aircrew Badge.
It was awarded to personnel who had qualified as both a pilot and an observer for the Luftwaffe, and had held these licenses simultaneously for at least a year. It features the eagle clutching the swastika at the centre, framed by a laurel and oakleaf wreath.
Complete with maker's name on reverse and flat pin, the badges have a semi-matt gilt wreath and silver eagle. correct two-piece, riveted construction.
