Product Details

The 1st Class Iron Cross was awarded for a single act of bravery in battle, or a distinguished action above and beyond the call of duty.

In 1957 a series of awards were re-designed with the removal of the swastika, which allowed WW2 veterans serving in the newly formed Bundeswehr to wear medals they had earned previously.

The medal has a pin on the reverse for fitting to the tunic.
