Product Details
The WW2 German Army Flak Badge was awarded in two different manners. Many were issued for bravery or merit, however most of the awards were acquired on a points basis. Batteries credited with downing an enemy aircraft were awarded 4 points, reduced to 2 points if assisted by other batteries. A point was also awarded to searchlight or sound-detection crews who made the initial detection of an aircraft which went on to be shot down.
The badge features the Flak artillery gun at the centre, supported by an oakleaf wreath. The reverse is complete with the correct vertical pin for fitting and makers mark.
