1957 Heer Long Service Medal - 18 years

These decorations were awarded for 18 years service in the German Army. The medal features the eagle on the front, and the reverse features the number '18' at the centre. The medal comes with the according ribbon, attached via a suspension loop.

 In 1957 a series of awards were re-designed with the removal of the swastika, which allowed WW2 veterans serving in the newly formed Bundeswehr to wear medals they had earned previously.

These are fine quality medals with a smart, silver finish, made from a zinc alloy.
