This is a reproduction of the French Legion of Honor Second Empire Grand Officer's breast star in silver. It is France’s second highest award for military and civil merit. It was awarded to the rank of Grand Officer during Napoleon III reign between 1852 - 1870 and should be worn on the right breast.
The star comes with a pin and and catch device for attachment and two pointed pins for mounting.
