Product Details

The Honourable Artillery Company is the oldest regiment in the British Army and the second most senior unit of the Territorial Army. It can trace its history as far back as 1087 when it was known as the 'Guild of Artillery of Longbows, Crossbows and Handgonnes.' (It is also the second oldest military organization in the world, behind the Vatican’s Pontifical Swiss Guard). It was incorporated by the Royal Charter in 1537 by Henry VII, and known by various names until 1658 when it was given the name Artillery Company. And although it was usually referred to as 'Honourable' it wasn't officially given the title until Queen Victoria bestowed it in 1890.

Notable conflicts include the English Civil War and both World Wars.

This fine reproduction of the regiment badge features a brass, hollow-backed fused/flaming grenade inscribed with 'HAC'. It has an aged look, and is designed to be pinned to a beret, but does not come with an attachment pin.
