US Army Drill Sergeant Identification Badge

Awarded after completion of the Drill Instruction course by an NCO at any Drill Instruction school and then deployed as a training instructor within the US Army Training Command. Often called the 'Pumpkin' patch owing to its similarity to the profile of a pumpkin, this badge was first issued in 1958.
