Mother's Cross in Silver - 1st Pattern

The Silver standard of the Mother's Cross was bestowed as a 'Fuhrergeschenk' (gift of the Fuhrer) to mothers of six or seven children. The first pattern of the medal bore the inscription on the reverse reading 'Das Kind adelt die Mutter', meaning 'the child ennobles the mother'.
